Before the Blossom: 30 Days of Prayer for a New Season

The season changed before you noticed it. Most of us are still praying about the last one.

In Israel the almond tree blooms in January — weeks ahead of every other tree, while the whole land still looks dead. The farmers called it the watcher. It is also the picture God chose when He wanted to explain how He works: “You have seen correctly, for I am watching to see that my word is fulfilled.”

Seasons in the Spirit turn underground first. By the time you can see one, it has already been happening. Which means the most urgent skill for a time like this is not endurance. It is perception.
